Our Mission
Laurel Heights is a private intensive residential treatment center located in Atlanta, Georgia. All Laurel Heights Programs are accredited by the Joint Commission.

Our mission is to provide the highest quality psychiatric and behavioral care to the meet the needs of the children and families we serve. Laurel Heights specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents with complex psychiatric and behavioral problems, co-occurring developmental disabilities, asperger's syndrome and autism. We serve families from all across Georgia and several states across the country.

Our treatment staff includes child and adolescent psychiatrists, medical staff, clinicians, behavior analysts, a psychologist, recreation therapists, educators and allied health professionals who assess the needs of each child and with input from the family develop an individualized treatment plan. Our treatment services include:

  • Individual, group and family therapy
  • Expressive therapies conducted by Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists
  • Specialized groups addressing trauma, substance abuse and interpersonal boundaries
  • Applied Behavior Analysis
  • 24-hour nursing care
  • Medication management
  • Special Education

Laurel Heights also offers a wide range of activities geared to develop self-awareness, creativity, self-management, volunteerism and leisure life skills.

When a child is ready for discharge, Laurel Heights staff work closely with parents, caseworkers, schools and referral sources to arrange appropriate aftercare supports to ensure a successful transition home or to a step-down program.
